City of Lathrop Neighborhood Stabilization Program
First Rehabbed Foreclosed Home for Sale
To Low Income Buyers

In February 2009 the Federal Housing and Urban Development Department rolled out Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds to areas of the country that were hardest hit with the foreclosure issue.   The City of Lathrop qualified for $645,663 to purchase foreclosed properties, rehab them – including energy efficient solutions, and then sell them to qualified low to moderate income buyers.  The City of Lathrop is excited to announce that the first home has been completed and is ready for purchase.

The renovations include a brand new roof, fresh paint – interior and exterior, new energy efficient appliances, new carpet and tile, light fixtures, and front yard landscaping.

In order to qualify to purchase the home, the buyer must plan to live in the home and have an income of less than 120% of the area median or approximately $76,320 for a family of four.  The home has been listed with National Realty (209) 473-1609.

Service First of Northern California is the non-profit organization that completed the purchase and renovation for the City.  This organization is 14 years old and for the last six years has provided affordable housing to the residents of San Joaquin County.
