Their terms of office expire in alternate even numbered years, with a maximum of 2 Councilmember seats, and the Mayor’s seat up for election at any one time. In addition to their representation of the citizens of Lathrop and their vote at City Council meetings, Councilmembers are appointed to various sub-committees and given other assignments by the Mayor during their terms in office, including the rotational office of Vice Mayor.
