The Lathrop Community Complex Project has been project pursued by this community for many years. In 2007, Community meetings began to begin development of a Master Plan for a three acre parcel next to the City’s current Skate Park. Through the course of public workshops and other community meetings, the public was able to give input to the City and the City’s architect as to what this project should encompass. Since that time, a new location has been identified that would allow this facility to be closer to Lathrop High School and the core users of the facility.

The Lathrop Community Complex will serve the Lathrop Community and provide a safe and centrally located multi-use facility for youth, teen and seniors to interact, learn and play. If grant funding is obtained, the Community Complex building will house a fully-furnished Youth & Teen Center, Multi-purpose room, Computer Lab, Quiet Study Area, Restrooms, Public Art Gallery and Public Library. Outdoor features include: Skate/BMX Park, Parkour Course, Community Garden, Public Art Courtyard, Playground Area and Outdoor Amphitheatre. Outdoor Open Space areas have been designed to allow picnicking, enjoyment of outdoor concerts or productions, passive use or informal recreational play.
