So What is Considered Stormwater Pollution?
Stormwater pollution is the result of pollutants, such as used motor oil, antifreeze,
paints, fertilizers, pet waste, water from washing our cars, and pesticides that
are washed into storm drains. Stormwater pollution is the number one source that
impacts our nation's urban waters today. The purpose of a storm drain system is
to only collect rain water and to prevent localized flooding during a storm event.
