Program Elements:

IDDE

The City of Lathrop's Stormwater Quality and Illicit Discharge Detection Elimination (IDDE) program's work is to protect the San Joaquin River. By implementing Best Management Practices (BMP's) and educating the community through public outreach and community participation, everyone can help prevent stormwater pollution.

So What is Considered Stormwater Pollution?

Stormwater pollution is the result of pollutants, such as used motor oil, antifreeze, paints, fertilizers, pet waste, water from washing our cars, and pesticides that are washed into storm drains. Stormwater pollution is the number one source that impacts our nation's urban waters today. The purpose of a storm drain system is to only collect rain water and to prevent localized flooding during a storm event.
