Dolly Parton's Imaginary Library Display at Lathrop City Hall

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has expanded to cover all of San Joaquin County, including Lathrop, Manteca, Tracy, and other south county communities, providing free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five. Families can register their children for this program to receive a new book every month, delivered by mail and addressed to the child. The service is provided through the Read to Me, Stockton! program and offers books in English and Spanish to support early literacy across the county.
How to enroll:
Parents can sign up their children by visiting the Read to Me, Stockton! Facebook page or the official Dolly Parton's Imagination Library website to find the correct registration link for the county. Children are eligible from birth until they are five years old.
What to expect:
Each month, a new, age-appropriate book is mailed to registered children at no cost to the family. Families can choose to receive books in either English or Spanish.
The program aims to improve literacy rates by providing children with access to books at home. The expansion into the entire county was made possible through community support and funding from local organizations like First 5 San Joaquin and the Rotary Club of Stockton.
