I have called the Lathrop Police Department before for city trucks parking in such a way that they cause hardship for entering and exiting for two different driveways, one being the East driveway of Lathrop Manteca Rural Fire Department at 800 J St., and the other being the driveway for 710 J St.

Workers are still parking their work trucks there between 800 and 710 J St.

The size of the fire trucks now days makes it hard for them to pull into the driveway when there are no cars parked at the small curb between the two addresses, but if there is a work truck there it is almost impossible to get a truck into the back of the fire department.

It also makes it very hard for people coming out of 710 J St. to see around the trucks when trying to exit the residence.

Can you talk to your drivers and have them park in the gravel area there on the side of the fire department where the water pump they work on is located? There is more than enough room for parking work trucks and for fire trucks to get to the back of the building. (It also puts their trucks closer to where they are working anyway.)

It's very disrespectful of the city workers to park their trucks in that small curb area that is really not designed for parking. Half the time they are actually partially blocking one or the other driveways with their bumpers.

The curb should have been painted RED to begin with to keep from having problems.
