I live on Oberlin av, across the street from champion park. The parking in front of our homes is always talking by persons using the park. We the home owners on my block would like to now if the was something to be done. Possibly RPP or a resident permit only zone. I would also like to remind that about a 3rd of our parking was removed by the city. That has made it even more difficult to find parking.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. During the planning phase for Village CC, a parking analysis was completed showing that all parking for this Village would be self-contained within supplied parking areas at a ratio of 2.56 parking spaces per dwelling unit, and that on-street parking would not be necessary. Therefore, any street parking is first come first served.

The City was forced to remove the street parking in the segment you mentioned to ensure emergency vehicle, primarily fire truck, access to Oberlin Avenue as the lane is too narrow with cars parked in the section with the median.

For these reasons, the City will not prohibit, limit or require permit parking on Oberlin Avenue. City staff will continue to monitor this area and make adjustments as necessary.
