I am writing to express my concerns regarding the recent street surfacing project being conducted in my neighborhood. On July 30, 2024, I received a notice from the company responsible for the street surfacing informing me that work would be conducted on our streets. However, the notice lacked critical details about the specific dates and times of the work on adjacent streets.

Upon receiving the notice, I called the company to seek further information, specifically to understand the schedule so I could determine where to park my car to avoid any inconvenience. Unfortunately, the representative I spoke with could not provide any additional details regarding the schedule. When I inquired about the availability of a website or any online resources to obtain more information, I was informed that no such resources existed. Furthermore, my request for additional information was met with refusal.

To resolve the issue, I contacted the city's project manager, who was in charge of this street surfacing project. Regrettably, the project manager did not understand the problem and was unable to provide the necessary information or address my concerns.

The lack of clear communication and transparency from both the company and the city's project management is concerning and unacceptable. Taxpayers fund this project, which is being done on public streets. Therefore, the public has a right to know the project's specific details, including the dates and times for work on adjacent streets, which is crucial for planning where to park my car and avoid disruptions.

I respectfully request that the city take immediate action to improve communication and provide residents with the necessary information regarding the street surfacing project. This can be achieved through:

Providing a detailed schedule and scope of work for the project, including specific dates and times for work on adjacent streets.

Establishing a dedicated website or online portal where residents can access up-to-date information.

Ensuring that representatives from both the company and the city are available to address residents' concerns and provide accurate information.
